CANCER
Cardinal signs are the “shakers and movers” or the “activators” of the Zodiac. The watery sign of Cancer is one of the four Cardinal signs along with Aries, Libra, and Capricorn. Someone with a Sun sign in Cancer may be less direct than the other three Cardinal signs, but is by far more potently adept at the emotional and intuitive sides of life. This is the result of Cancer’s ruling planet being the Moon.
In our bodies Cancer rules the breasts, stomach and solar plexus and we in the physical form are just as affected by the Moon as the tide’s ebb and flow. Our emotions and our intuitive energies can also rush forward and flow which is why the keywords for Cancer are “I feel.” The Cancer energies are infused with a type of “mothering” flow. It is a combination of gentleness as well as fierceness.
Cancer also rules the mass public consciousness. Can you feel the increased compassion coming from and in regards to other cultures around the world? There seems to be a greater sensitivity to the suffering of others. Will Humanity really turn the corner into the Aquarian Age that is so necessary for our soul’s evolution? These are certainly exciting times to live in, especially if you decide to tune into the energies at work. Let’s step into the new Aquarian Age together where the “Water Bearer” pours out the abundance for all of humanity, not just one!
Open the heart center behind your chest to the abundant Light of the Mothering energies of Cancer. Also remember that directly across from Cancer is the Fatherly Capricorn energy. Together these two forces can merge and co-create a new manifesting of mature, responsible love. Use the gentle or the fierce method but definitely, this month try to focus upon the Cancer energies of family, home, heritage, traditions, nurturing protection, memories, loved ones and intuitive skills and you just might flow into the Light of the Mother energy.
Opening of the heart may produce uncomfortable feelings for many people. With this in mind I would like to share a recent lesson of mine that I had and will always remember for its simplicity and profoundness. During my current studies at the Center for Inner Awareness, while sharing the readings of a text book, the topic of discussion was compassionate caring in life. I queried one of my teachers about my own difficult experiences of connection and caring with a compassionate, open heart.
I inquired, “Does it have to hurt so much, to open my heart?”
The wisest of answers was returned to me,
“It only hurts when you try to keep it closed.”
